Did you think Control Line flying was dead? If you did, then think again as it’s the most direct “hands on” model flying discipline and growing all the time.
On Thursday 20th and Friday 21st June, the Control Line Festival of Flight will be held at BMFA Buckminster. You will be able to do the following –
- Have a go at control line flying with models of all types and tuition provided
- Fly your own model of any sort and get whatever help or advice that you need
- Watch amazing demonstration flights close up
- Enjoy the friendly fly in event
- Watch the Home international taking place on Friday 21st June between England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland teams
Please note that you can bring your own model to fly but will have to pay the BMFA day rate of £10 unless you have a season ticket for Buckminster. If you are just spectating or having a go with one of the trainer models provided on the day, you will not have to pay the £10 day rate. Payment is on the day.
The Buckminster site opens at 8am and flying will be from 10am.
The CLAPA (Control Line Aerobatic Pilots Association) Home International championships will be held on Friday 21st and the CLAPA championships at the weekend on 22nd and 23rd June.
If you haven’t been to Buckminster, this would be an ideal opportunity to have a great day out and see the impressive facilities at the BMFA National Centre.
