This is one of 4 training days to be held this year and further details will be posted here nearer to the events.
Pilots who have a minimum of a FW A certificate may apply to take part in these events. Aircraft like Riots and Wot 4s are all that is needed to participate. They will get the opportunity to be coached in how to improve their aircraft setup and how to fly what is called precision aerobatics. This is classic aerobatics and not 3D aerobatics. We will also fly demonstration flights of what the participants should be aiming at and over lunch a demonstration of the current FAI aerobatic schedule. We will be supported by the UKF3A Association who will be providing the mentors, all of whom are currently flying in competition in the UK and some of whom will be flying for the UK F3A Team.
We will be looking for 12 pilots to participate and will provide 4 mentors from the Association. Each mentor and their group of 3 pilots, will be together all day. The mentor will discuss what each pilot wants to achieve and/or suggest some achievements for which to aim. By working together with their fellows, pilots will learn both by flying and also watching their fellows’ fly. We will aim to get each participant 4 flights in the day which means they will also get to watch and evaluate another 8 flights from their group as well as the pilots flying in other groups. It is amazing how much you learn by watching when being guided by an expert!
